Want something quick and easy that you can add to your daily diet that can ramp up just about every dimension of your health: heart, brain, immune function, skin, hair, nails, hormones, muscles, vascular system, gut and digestion?

What could possibly be so good for you – and I’m going to bet you may not even keep in your pantry?

Hemp.

Hemp?

Hemp is a seed and a variety of the cannabis plant. Yes, that one. Sometimes referred to as the “Sacred Plant” for its exceptional healing qualities, but this one won’t get you high.

It will help heal you.

Hemp is one of those “superfoods” I like to push into my diet daily because it’s super healthy. Its subtle nutty taste doesn’t interfere with other foods so you can easily add it to salads, cereals, pesto, yogurt, oatmeal, and just about anything else without affecting flavor.

And it’s packed with just about everything your body needs: fiber, nutrients, minerals, healthy omega 3 fats, protein and carbs.

Adding two to three tablespoons of hemp to your diet daily can work wonders to diminish joint pain; help fill you up and reduce sugar cravings; support digestion; relieve constipation; support strong skin, hair and nails; help clear up skin rashes and disorders like psoriasis and eczema; diminishe inflammation; and even help build your muscles.

Andrew Weil, M.D. even suggests preparing them as a snack.

  • Take ¼ to ½ cup of hemp seeds and place in a skillet over med-high heat.
  • Cook until lightly browned.
  • Add 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, a touch of soy sauce, garlic powder or herbs of your choice and snack away.

Remember, it’s not the big things that change your life. It’s the little things you do consistently. Take a little hemp seed every day and watch what happens.
